We Will Miss You JVC GR-DVL317U
And yet another depressing post. Everyone here at SandBox Films is sorry to announce that JVC GR-DVL317U is no longer with us. After over six years of faithful service, she just couldn't go on anymore and refuses to play any tapes. It has been a sad week at SandBox Films and we wonder how we could remain a film company without a functioning camera. We have explored many options. One of which is to get the old JVC fixed Which I guess would mean that she is in fact not dead but in a consistent vegetative state. I'm not sure if we should stick this out or just Terry Schiavo her and pull out the feeding tube. If we go the latter route I have found a suitable replacement here: http://www.geniuscameras.com/prodetails.asp?prodid=103635&up=77624&start=1
Now it's a little pricey, and if I were to go this route I would either have to organize a SandBox Films bake sale or max out my credit card or maybe make a trip to the bank for a small loan. I think ALL things happen for a reason, and I think this is the time for SandBox Films to grow. I'm going to be 26 in a couple months, and I 'm not getting any younger. If anyone would like to help out in these tough times, send me an email at allroy22@yahoo.com and I will tell you where you can send your checks.

Crap, you can use mine; it's just collecting dust. I'm sorry about the camera, it taped some neat stuff.
Now that YouTube and Photobucket exist and allow us folks to put free video clips on our blogs, it's a new avenue for us to explore our creativity. I've got a lot of good ideas for 1-minute film clips to pepper around my page, maybe we can collaborate on something.
Grilled Cheese Wisconsin is right around the corner, yo.
Awesome! I think my next project is going to be a video for Mary using shots from the two live shows with Scott just so I can do something.
I want to get working on the pumpkin movie, but there is not enough room on Sherry's hard drive. I bought a larger one but haven't had time to and don't know how to install it even if I did.
Aaron can help you install the hard drive, or Celia knows a lot about hardware too, if he's busy.
With your camera biting the dust, this could be a good chance for you to splurge and get yourself a small independent studio setup. Go and buy a nice laptop for media purposes only (saves hard drive space and memory), and a nice DV to go with it. Pirate some sweet editing software (if you need it, which I doubt), and get down to business.
I'll think of something we can make a 60-second clip of and I'll let you know. You do the same. I was thinking of doing something that utilized the 'smash-cut' they use on Lost all the time (read my latest Lost Friday for more info).
Get that hard drive installed. If you bring both to my work I can probably get everything copied from one to the other fairly quickly. But I've never done this sort of thing, so I might screw it up.
